Ticketed Scaffolder

 
COMPETENCY  AREAS DESCRIPTION
Technical proficiency Currently holds formally recognised skills and proven proficiency as a Scaffolder
Relevant  experience 1+ years experience as a qualified scaffolder
Teamwork/developing positive relationships Being helpful, respectful, approachable, and team-oriented. Must have ability to build strong work relationships and contribute to a positive work environment. Some team leadership experience would be desirable
Communications Limited written communication – more by direct face to face
Efficiency/planning Ability to plan ahead how to achieve the required work, in the required time safely and efficiently
Numeracy/thinking skills Ability to read Site drawings. Ability to calculate equipment numbers accurately
Work environment Required to work on a variety of Sites – work at height, in all environmental conditions. Needs to be able to lift and carry plant to workplace
Honesty Up front and open. Will not seek to ‘hide’ errors – but to learn and improve. Can be trusted by those around him
KEY RESULTS
People Skills Works with the team, productively and is able to provide on the job training, gain knowledge of and follow company policies procedures. Manage plant and equipment and team to complete job correctly and on time.
Project Management - Operations Works with the team ensuring scaffolding erected fit for purpose using NZ Best Practice Guidelines for Scaffolding 2009.
Equipment, Materials, and Processes Only those trained and licensed to undertake work activities such as equipment or vehicles. Maintenance and security of tools at the worksite. Ensure surplus gear is held securely and returned to yard when not required.
Health and Safety Effective knowledge and leadership in H&S policy and processes. Follows Company policy and procedures to ensure work and workplace is safe for all persons present.
Client/Supplier  Relations Positive Client relations established, developed, and maintained
Product Knowledge Maintain and product knowledge relevant to the job.


Scaffolder - Leading Hand


COMPETENCY AREAS DESCRIPTION
Technical proficiency Currently holds formally recognised skills and proven proficiency as a Scaffolder
Relevant  experience 5+ years experience as a scaffolder.
Teamwork/developing positive relationships Being helpful, respectful, approachable, and team-oriented. As the senior company person on Site, must have ability to build strong work relationships and contribute to a positive work environment
Leadership Some previous leadership experience
Communications Able to write orders, and keep registers. Must keep clear concise notes
Efficiency/planning Demonstrated ability to plan ahead how to achieve the required work, in the required time safely and efficiently
Numeracy/thinking skills Ability to read Site drawings. To be able to picture drawing in 3D, on an existing site and to highlight any issues (and potential solutions) Ability to calculate equipment numbers accurately
Work environment Required to work on a variety of Sites – work at height, in all environmental conditions. Needs to be able to lift and carry plant to workplace

KEY RESULTS
People Be able to effectively supervise a team of up to 10 workers and meet Company requirement to undertake on the job training. Maintain an efficient workforce meeting productivity, and equipment requirements.
Project Management - Operations Pre-work completed professionally following Company procedures. Professional management of the job during erection and dismantle, providing a structure fit for purpose and meeting Best Practice Guidelines of Scaffolding in NZ 2009.
Equipment, Materials, and Processes Maintenance and the secure storage of tools and equipment including PPE on site as well as Company vehicles maintained to LTSA standard and kept clean and tidy.
Health and Safety Personal knowledge and provides effective leadership in H&S. Promotes and sets standards for H&S  on the job in compliance with Company /Legislative requirements
Organise and run regular meetings for staff to share relevant and appropriate H & S information. Follows company procedures in the timely and accurate reporting of any H & S issues including accidents, completes paperwork required and prompt follow up of any substandard event or accident.
Communications Relevant and timely information shared with all that need to know. Liaise regularly with Contract Supervisor.
Client/Supplier  Positive relations developed and maintained
Stock Control Control and safe storage PPE and excess gear on site.
Records Timely and accurate reporting of all job details and work activities for invoicing.
Procedures and Systems Has knowledge of Company policies and procedures and Company systems relevant to the job.
