Taking Health & Safety Higher

It took a serious accident with several injuries for Troy Bayley to reconsider his career and how things should be, or more importantly, should not be done in the health and safety sector.

Acrow’s Health & Safety advisor Troy began with Acrow in April 2014, assisting with health and safety in the company, before taking over the H&S and HR advisor role completely in mid-2015. Troy’s desire to join the H&S industry started after a fall through an asbestos 20ft high roof in 2005 while replacing the sheeting. Troy broke both wrists, multiple fingers and his jaw, along with cracking his and skull and hip. He also lost his hearing in one ear. This meant rehabilitation for three years of his life to learn how to walk and gain normality back. This changed his mind set, and it was at this point he decided to study H&S as his career.

Taking H&S seriously, Troy takes his experience and expertise and passes this onto the staff at Acrow with the vision to “keep it simple so we all can understand the message that is sent out to our employees”. Having 14 years’ experience in the construction sector, plus experience from different industries including logistics also assists with the way this vision is created.
With the right amount of personable charisma, Troy is approachable by all employees at Acrow, and acts diligently resolving any issues arising from the scaffold world. He lives by the philosophy “think about the end at the start,” and takes this philosophy and uses it in a practicable approach to ensure that H&S is taken seriously and used proactively throughout Acrow, taking Health & Safety in Acrow to new heights.
